John Williams

President

John joined HCSG as President October, 2017. John was President and CEO of MedRecovery Management, LLC prior to the sale of the company to Health Management Systems, Inc (HMS). He is a Princeton graduate with extensive post graduate studies at Harvard, University of Buffalo, and Canisius College.

John is a serial entrepreneur. He joins HCSG with a focus of leveraging state of the art IT technology to help transform the healthcare industry and a passion for making a difference. He currently serves on a variety of boards that benefit communities both in Buffalo and in Dorset, Ontario.

Brian Brumit

Managing Partner

Brian is a process management professional. He has over 28 years of experience using automation to improve operational efficiency for healthcare organizations across the United States.

Prior to founding HCSG, Brian spent 16 years with PricewaterhouseCoopers as a Managing Director. He was recognized for his expertise in business process reengineering/redesign (BPR), information technology planning/delivery (SDLC), Project Management (GDPM) and Quality Assurance (ISO-9000). In addition to his responsibilities at HCSG, Brian has provided consulting services for several large insurance organizations, published articles on third-party reimbursement rights, and has been a guest instructor at a variety of healthcare conferences.

Bruce Ogle

Executive Vice President

Bruce has more than 20 years of experience leading healthcare recovery and technology operations. He is responsible for delivering innovative solutions for our healthcare clients and driving internal operational efficiencies. Prior to joining HCSG, he worked at Trover Solutions (now Equian) as senior vice president of product innovation and auditing services. Prior to Trover, he was president of the subrogation division at The Rawlings Company where he led efforts to build the largest subrogation recovery firm in the nation.

Alistair Shaw

Chief Technology Officer

Alistair has over 25 years of experience designing and building enterprise applications. He has managed complex project teams and partnered with business leaders to deliver customer-focused solutions. Alistair accepted the CTO role in June of 2018. Prior to this, he had been working with HCSG on a project basis, rearchitecting internal systems in anticipation of strategic growth and emerging security requirements.

Alistair started his career with Pricewaterhouse Coopers as an auditor and a consultant. He served clients in the retail, financial services, insurance, and manufacturing sectors, spread across Europe, the Middle East, and North America. He has held product marketing and management roles with Hyperion (now a division of Oracle) and has performed the CTO role in two technology startups. He has professional qualifications in accounting and finance, and in engineering. He is originally from the UK but now resides in Connecticut, USA.

Joseph Milukas

IT Department Director

Joe Milukas is a veteran information technology professional. Joe is responsible for application development, and developing and implementing customized solutions for our existing client programs. Joe is also responsible for analyzing business processes to identify new opportunities that improve efficiencies and maximize recovery yield.

Jack Shlapak

Director of Operations

Jack Shlapak is the Director of Operations at HCSG. He oversees all of our internal operations to ensure they are producing the outcomes our clients expect. A veteran HCSG mover and shaker, Jack has many years of experience managing workers' compensation, subrogation, and overpayment recovery programs. Most notably, Jack is instrumental in the development and operation of our highly successful New York workers' compensation recovery program.

Bernard Roesch

Corporate Controller

Bernard joined HCSG as the Corporate Financial Controller in 2012. With over 25 years of consulting experience as the co-founder and Managing Partner of MISSION Consulting Group, Bernard is an experienced financial, operations and software professional with expertise in accounting management, strategic planning and financial analysis. His extensive experience working in business environments of varied sizes and industries, including Fortune 500 companies, investment banks, the U.S. Department of Energy, and a portfolio of small businesses has made him adept at "pulling it all together" with an emphasis on complex business application integration.

Bernard has designed integrated performance measures for long-term forecasting, cash flow valuation and developed long term plans for a variety of business units and is an expert at building computer models to assess the economic feasibility, risk and financing alternatives of domestic and international project finance transactions. Prior to forming MISSION Consulting, Bernard served as the sole financial analyst of Condec Corporation, a $300-million high-technology, defense and heavy machinery conglomerate, and as a planning analyst for the Dixie division of American Can Company. He holds an MS and an engineering degree from Ecole Polytechnique (Paris, France) and an MBA from the Harvard Business School. He speaks native French and is fluent in German.

HCSG has successfully completed the Common Security Framework (CSF) Self-Assessment from the Health Information Trust Alliance (HITRUST). HITRUST was established under the premise that information security should be a core pillar of the broad adoption of health information systems and exchanges. The CSF combines requirements from existing federal, state, and third party standards such as HIPAA, HITECH, PCI, COBIT, NIST, and FTC.
