Dr. Vani Savalgi

Dr. Vani Savalgi, MD; FRCS, is a general surgeon with over 20 years of medical and surgical experience, including trauma, orthopedics, and general surgery. She joined HCSG in 2009 as a medical reviewer for workers compensation reimbursements. She was promoted to a senior reviewer position, and currently is manager of all medical review work.

Dr. Savalgi is responsible for auditing all workers’ compensation claims to ensure they are medically justifiable. Further, her skill and insight means we are able to identify treatments that other WC recovery vendors would likely overlook as unrelated, but because of her expertise, she recognizes as being connected. Dr. Savalgi writes medical narratives whenever necessary giving valid professional explanations, and this vastly increases the amounts approved for reimbursements. As a Certified Professional Medical Auditor (CPMA), she also oversees the validity of overpayment data mining and reimbursements.

HCSG has successfully completed the Common Security Framework (CSF) Self-Assessment from the Health Information Trust Alliance (HITRUST). HITRUST was established under the premise that information security should be a core pillar of the broad adoption of health information systems and exchanges. The CSF combines requirements from existing federal, state, and third party standards such as HIPAA, HITECH, PCI, COBIT, NIST, and FTC.
